Obituary - Anna Gardipee

Anna Gardipee, 62, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Northern Montana Hospital of natural causes.

Wake services began at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2015, and will continue until her funeral service, which will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2015, all at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rocky Boy. Burial will follow in Rocky Boy Cemetery.

Anna was born on Dec. 19, 1952, in Fort Belknap, Montana, to Tom and Ruth (Favel) Gardipee Sr. She was raised in Rocky Boy, graduating from Box Elder High School. Anna attended Stone Child College, receiving an associate degree in business. She worked for the Chippewa Cree Tribe in various positions, culminating in her final position of finance manager in small business. She retired several years ago due to her medical issues, but she remained busy.

Anna was a social butterfly who enjoyed gambling and going to visit with friends and family. She was always on the go, and beading and sewing were also favorite pastimes. She absolutely loved spending time with her grandchildren when they would come to visit.

Anna was preceded in death by her son, Marvin Gardipee; her daughter, Mariah Gardipee Smith; her parents, Tom and Ruth Gardipee Sr .; her brother Tom Gardipee Jr .; and her sisters Dirinda, Loverne and Louise Gardipee.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Gordon Gardipee of Yakima, Washington, Quanah Gardipee of Houck, Arizona, and Isaiah and Brianna Gardipee of Pablo, Montana; her brothers, Allen Gardipee of Rocky Boy and Vern Gardipee of Seattle; her sister, Irene Potts of Rocky Boy; her adopted siblings, Earl (Elaine) Arkinson and Marlene Arkinson, all of Rocky Boy, and Arlene (Dan Booker) Arkinson of Great Falls; her adopted mom, Delia Morsette and her family; her lifetime friend, Marvin Smith; and numerous beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
