School elections set for Tuesday

Local school boards in the area are having their annual elections Tuesday. Read up on what you will be voting on in your area here.

Big Sandy

Big Sandy school will not be having an election this year.

Box Elder

Box Elder school will not be having an election.

Chinook

One three-year trustee position is up for election, and Joel Pruttis and Mark Harshman are running for it. There will also be a mil levy on the ballot. For the general fund, a $26,355.34 or 3.82 mils for proper maintenance and operation of the school programs will be up for vote.

The raise would increase taxes on a home with a market value of $100,000 by $4.97 and $9.95 on a house with a $200,000 value.

The polls will be open at Chinook High School at 528 Ohio St., from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Absentee ballots are available at the school.

Harlem

Two three-year board trustees positions are up for election. Kathleen Adams, Valerie Blackcrow and Donald L. Long Knife are running for the positions. Adams is the incumbent.

There is no mil levy on the ballot.

Voters should go to either the Harlem school’s foyer or the Fort Belknap Complex Red Whip Gymnasium from noon to 8 p.m. to vote.

Havre

Havre Public Schools will not be having an election.

Hays-Lodge Pole

Two three-year positions are up for election. Chris Ballard, Ken Morin, Randal Werk and John Hawley are running for the positions.

There will be no mil levy on the ballot.

Voters should go to the Hays-Lodge Pole High School from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. to turn in their ballot.

North Star

North Star School will not be having an election this year.

Rocky Boy

Two three-year positions are up for elections.

Gilberta Belgarde, Roger DeCora, Russell T. Gopher, Selina Johnson, Brian Thomas Molina Jr., Martin Parker, Gilbert “Gibby” Russette, Michelle Sangrey, Joshua “Waff” Seaton and Paulette Standing Rock are running for the positions.

There will be no mil levy on the ballot.

Voters should go to the Rocky Boy Elementary gymnasium from noon to 8 p.m. Absentee ballot are available to pick up.
