Hi-Line Athletes of the Week

Tristin Gone, Harlem Track

The Harlem boys track team is really on the rise this season, and a big reason why is athletes like Tristin Gone. Gone has been starring in the jumps for the Wildcats this spring, and he's coming off one of his best meets of the season. Last Saturday in Lewistown, Gone won both the long jump and triple jump at the Golden Eagle Invitational. He leaped 19-8 in the long jump and 40-0 in the triple to easily win both events. Gone, a multi-sport athlete, including a basketball standout, is helping the Wildcats have one of their best track seasons.

Britney Nelson, Chinook Track

Chinook's Britney Nelson has already achieved track and field greatness. But the Sugarbeeter thrower isn't done yet. Not by a long shot. Nelson, who has the top Class C throws in the shot put and discus this season, swept all three events at this past weekend's Golden Eagle Invitational in Lewistown. Nelson won the shot put with a throw of 37-11, the discus (114-3) and the javelin (99-10). She is a contender to sweep all three events at the state meet next month and is headed to UGF on a track and field scholarship.
