Havre Mayor Tim Solomon helps Lincoln-McKinley Primary School second-grade student Emma Bitz plant her sapling in soil in celebration of Arbor Day Monday during the annual tree planting event in Pepin Park.
Monday morning, Lincoln-McKinley Primary School students gathered in Pepin Park for the annual handout of saplings in honor of Arbor Day.
Havre Mayor Tim Solomon and many other volunteers from the Havre Garden Club, other organizations and the community, helped the students, who were given a cut milk jug and helped to fill their containers with soil and plant their trees in it.
The students could choose between four species of trees which they could transplant wherever they want them to grow.
