To commemorate Memorial Day and recognize Montanans for their service to our nation, U.S. Rep. Ryan Zinke, R-Mont., is seeking photos of Montana veterans and current service members to permanently display in the nation’s capital and to honor the week of Memorial Day.
Loved-ones are encouraged to mail a copy of their photos of the veteran/service member, with details of the individual’s service — branch, years active, etc. — and the veteran/service member’s hometown to Zinke’s Billings office: Hon. Ryan K. Zinke 222 North 32nd St., Suite 900 Billings, MT 59101.
Zinke said, “Montana has a long and proud history of serving our nation. From the Devil’s Brigade and the Crow Code Talkers of WWII to the countless men and women who signed up to serve after the terrorist attacks on September 11th, every member of Montana’s military community deserves to be honored and thanked for their sacrifice to our nation. I look forward to honoring them in our nation’s capital.”
The photos will be displayed in Zinke’s Washington, D.C., office and service members and veterans will receive a special honor during the Memorial Day week. In order to make the Memorial Day honor, the deadline for photos is Friday, May 15.
Photos will also be highlighted on social media. Montanans are encouraged to send only copies of photos, as the photos will be on display permanently and will not be returned.
