Casino theft ringleader to pay $8K

A woman who pleaded guilty to working with two others to rob a Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation casino was sentenced to time served and $8,250 in restitution in federal court Thursday.

Amber Nicole Wells, 30, of La Junta, Colorado, will be placed on supervised release for two years and must pay the amount jointly with the other two women who pleaded guilty in the case, Melinda Marie Descharm, 25, of Box Elder and Maria Rose Newton, 34, of La Junta, Colorado.

The indictment reads they went into the casino on or around Jan. 30, 2013, and stole an amount more than $1,000. The specific amount is not given.
