I am asking for your help in a matter of great personal concern to me. Montana Developmental Center in Boulder is on the verge of closing.
Senate Bill 411 passed in the Senate and House.
There are just a few more steps until it reaches the governor's office for him to sign or veto
If MDC closes, a lot of clients will be lost in the shuffle with little or no help at all, as some of them have tried and failed to find the help they need.
So we would end up with even more homeless people, some ending up in prison eventually and even some committing suicide as they feel they have no one to turn to or nowhere to go.
Please call your legislators and our governor. Ask them to vote no to SB 411.
I have been involved with MDC for a year and without a doubt feel very secure in the clients’ treatment.
People like our legislators need to go there and check it out for themselves and talk with the clients and staff before making such a huge decision about their life.
