Havre Public Schools to salute senior citizens

Havre Public Schools will pay tribute to the Havre community Sunday, May 3, at the 25th annual Salute to Senior Citizens.

The occasion, sponsored by the school system, will take place at the Havre Middle School at 12:30 p.m.

A free brunch will be served in the cafeteria followed by a program spotlighting student entertainment for people's enjoyment.

The brunch and program are organized by Havre school officials in appreciation of the support citizens in Havre have shown the public school system through mill levies, student activities and to the school system in general, saying despite the fact senior citizens no longer having children in public schools, the district faculty and staff recognize the value and importance of their involvement in Havre's youth.

Preceding brunch and entertainment provided by students of Havre Public Schools, artwork and industrial arts projects will be displayed for viewing in the foyer of the Middle School.

The quality shows the dedication Havre Public Schools' students have taken throughout the school year to accomplish these projects.

Havre Public Schools Superintendent Andy Carlson will address the group expressing the school district's appreciation for the senior citizen's support throughout the years.

People who qualify for any senior discount are welcome to attend.
