From Tee to Green...
The 2015 golf season is here, and in one more week, the official men's league season will begin at Prairie Farms Golf Course.
But league golf isn't the only thing that will keep golf courses in our area busy this spring and summer. No, tournaments are also a key component of the golf season, and there's plenty of exciting ones to choose from in our area.
In 2015, there are currently nine tournaments on the slate at Prairie Farms, with dates still to be determined. The tournament season will kick off with the annual Golfing for a Cure cancer fundraiser June 6, followed by the Natalie Patrick Foundation Scramble. June will also host the Northern Lights Athletic Scholarship Foundation Tournament.
July will also be a key tournament month at Prairie Farms, with the annual Rotary Blast Tournament, as well as the Northern Montana Health Care Foundation Scramble. Those two events are two of the biggest on the Havre golf scene each season.
Prairie Farms will host the Blue Pony Scramble, a Men's Club Championship, the Havre Wrestling Club Scramble and the Shot In the Dark Tournament later in the summer. For more tourney information, call the Pro Shop at Prairie Farms.
There will also be exciting tournaments at Beaver Creek Golf Course, the Chinook Golf Club and at Signal Point Golf Club this summer, so there's plenty to keep golfers busy and looping. Men's league action at Prairie Farms will kick off next Tuesday and Wednesday, while there are kickoff scrambles being held tonight and Wednesday to signal the beginning of the 2015 league season. Stay tuned to the Havre Daily News for all the golf league results each week all season long.
Women's league at Prairie Farms is also coming soon. The women's golf association will hold their annual pre-season meeting April 23 at Prairie Farms Golf Course. The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. in the Pro Shop. All current teams should be represented and anyone wishing to start a women's league team is also encouraged to attend.
