The website http://www.myneighborinneed.org/havre provides local citizens a way to ask for help from their community and a way for community members to give back to those in need.

In just three weeks of operation My Neighbor in Need has fulfilled 11 need requests and has another three need requests awaiting to be fulfilled. Because of the amazing support from the local community, we do not have any current need requests. Thank you Havre.

Recently fulfilled needs

“Dear My Neighbor in Need,

I am a disabled man and I am in need of a king size bed. The bed I currently have is beyond its useable life and should be thrown away but if I dispose of it I will not have nothing to sleep on. I would appreciate any help. Thank you.”

My Neighbor in Need response:

We spoke with the neighbor in need and verified his situation. We approved his request and posted it on myneighborinneed.org as well as featured it in the Havre Daily News. Very quickly, a caring donor contacted our office and agreed to help fulfill the request. Thank you very much to the amazing donor.

“Dear My Neighbor in Need,

I am a veteran who is looking for work. I am in need of help to get a good night sleep. I am sleeping on a very thin piece of foam which is directly on the floor. I do not have the resources to buy even a used bed. Thank you very much.”

My Neighbor in Need response:

We met with the neighbor in need at our office located at 419 6th Ave. and she completed the application. After we verified her information her need was approved. In less than a week a wonderful donor contacted us and offered to help this Veteran. We contacted Mike at Valley Furniture and his team are scheduled to pick-up the donor’s complete full-sized bed system and deliver it to the neighbor in need. A High-Five goes to the kind donor and the caring team at Valley Furniture.

If you are planning on getting new furniture how about donating your gently used furniture to My Neighbor in Need. We will gladly accept your kindness and give it to our neighbors in need here in Havre.

Or you can call 406-301-3919 and tell us how you would like to help. Financial need donations are made directly to the business that will fulfill the need.

Send financial donations to My Neighbor in Need, 419 6th Ave., Havre MT 59501. Remember to make checks payable to My Neighbor in Need — an approved, 501(c)3 Tax Exempt organization. Your donation is tax deductible.

Request help at http://www.my neighborinneed.org by completing the Request a Need form and clicking submit. If you do not have Internet access, call 406-301-3919, or mail a request to MNIN 419 6th Ave. Havre, MT 59501. In your written request, provide contact information, including a description of the need.
