In the 2014-15 high school basketball season, there’s wasn’t a district in Class B as good, deep and talented as the District 1B. And that fact is evident in the league’s All-Conference lists, which were released earlier this week.
In all, three Rocky Boy players were part of the 1B All-Conference list, with two Rocky Boy seniors earning Class B All-State honors.
On the boys side, the third-place Rocky Boy Stars saw senior Cecil LaFromboise named Class B All-State and First-Team All-Conference for the second straight season. Fellow senior Junior Day Child also earned Second-Team All-Conference honors for the Stars, who finished a roller coaster season with last weekend’s win the consolation game of the Class B state tournament in Great Falls.
Four players from state champion Choteau were named All-Conference, including Dylan Pannabacker and Collin Achenbach, who both earned Class B All-State honors. Conrad’s Shane Larson and Shelby’s Tyler White, coached by former Havre Blue Pony great Tom Reynolds, were also named All-State.
On the girls side, Rocky Boy Morningstar Jai-Lynne Day Child was named First-Team All-Conference and Class B All-State. Day Child had an outstanding season for the Morning Stars and was one of just three 1B players named to the Class B All-State squad. Fairfield’s Lizzy Klinker and Choteau’s Celie Salmond were the others.
