Havre motorists are likely to see a lot of potholes this spring.
The aging streets in the city combined with weather patterns that make for good potholes are to blame, said Dave Peterson, the city's public works director.
Warm temperatures this weekend resulted in thawing frost. The water seeped through cracks in the street causing potholes and wider cracks.
Especially hard hit was 7th Avenue near St. Jude Thaddeus School and areas on 10th Avenue. Orange cones blocked off areas on 7th Avenue.
Peterson said crews will be doing what they can to improve the situation.
"But the aging streets are a continuing problem," he said.
