The H. Earl Clack Memorial Museum Board heard updates Monday concerning new museum items and Hands on History.
Jim Spangelo, manager of the H. Earl Clack Memorial Museum, said John M. Nash sent a letter and $630 worth of items from the historical grocery store company, Nash Finch, which has its roots in the 19th century.
“I think what he’s doing is (evaluating) it for a donation, but it’s not entirely clear, so I am going to write a cover letter back to him saying ‘thank you’ for the nice gift,” Spangelo said.
A variety of items were sent, including coffee tins and spice boxes.
Spangelo also said that a Nash Finch display will eventually be set up in their new building, the Havre History Center, which is located on the 100 Block of 5th Avenue.
“If anybody has any other Nash Finch items, we’d sure take them,” he added.
Elaine Morse, H. Earl and Margaret Turner Clack Memorial Museum Foundation president, gave an update on this year’s Hands on History event, which will be held April 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Holiday Village Mall.
“We certainly could use any and all help,” she said. “We need about 100 volunteers. We typically have 20-25 events.”
For more information on volunteering at Hands on History, call Morse at 265-1376 or Allison Keeley at 390-4936.
The next museum board meeting will be held April 13 at the Great Northern-Best Western Inn James J. Hill Conference Room, 1345 1st Street East at 5:30 p.m.
