The Frontier Conference women's championship game will include the Montana State University-Northern Skylights for the first time in nearly two decades. The No. 10 Skylights beat the No. 24 Great Falls Argos 73-59 Friday night in a semifinal game to advance to Monday's title game against top-seeded Westminster.
Behind a massive 32 points and 16 rebounds from senior A'Jha Edwards, the Skylights overpowered the Argos. Edwards scored 10 points in the first 12 minutes, helping MSU-N to a 32-28 halftime edge. UGF battled for much of the second half, but the Skylights went on a 13-3 run to open their second double-digit leads at 59-549 with 5:39 to play, and from there, the Argos never really threatened again.
Northern, which improved to 27-4 on the season, had four players reach double figures, including 13 points by Natalee Faupel, 12 by Megan Feldman and another 10 from Taylor Cummings.
Now MSU-N will travel to Salt Lake City to take on the fourth-ranked Griffins for the Frontier title Monday night. The game will tip at 7 p.m.
