Letter to the Editor: A lot of people, groups help Boy Scouts

Editor:

There have been many individuals, families, businesses, organizations and other groups in and Havre and along the Hi-Line that have been very supportive of Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts and we would like to take this time to say "Thank You" on behalf of Boy Scout Troop 1438.

First off, we would like to thank First Lutheran Church which has continued year after year to be our chartered organization, allowing us to be a part of the annual Lutefisk and Swedish Meatball Dinner and allowing us to use the facility for our meetings. Second, we would like to thank the Knights of Columbus for allowing Troop 1438 to help out at their Fair booth and to Triangle Communications for allowing us to deliver their phone books each spring.

Additional thanks goes to the Church of Later Day Saints for hosting our monthly district meetings and the Hi-Line Merit Badge Midway, St. Jude Thaddeus Church for being the charter organization for Pack 4426, the Havre Historic Post Office for hosting the District ICL breakfast, Holiday Village Mall for allowing the Pinewood Derby to be held there every year, Hi-Line Radio Shack for use of the audio equipment for the Pinewood Derby and to Montana State University-Northern for assisting with the Pinewood Derby car cutting, the welding merit badge class and other merit badge classes.

Another huge thank-you goes to The Havre Daily News for its outstanding support and coverage of Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts in Havre.

We would like to thank the following individuals for teaching merit badges at the Hi-Line Merit Badge Midway; Spike Magelssen, Andrew Johnson, Jenni Stoltz, Patrick Ulano and Stephannie Klein.

Last but not least, we would like to thank each and every one of you for your support of Scouting in Havre. If you know someone that is interested in joining or assisting in any capacity please contact us.
