Havre Job Service Employer Committee is hosting a workshop March 25 about employer responsibilities and employee rights under the American Disabilities Act.
The act states that employers must make appropriate and reasonable accommodations for employees with disabilities when requested. Common questions employees have include:
• How do I know if I have rights under Title I of the ADA?
• How do I know when to request a reasonable accommodation?
• What if my employer denies my accommodation request?
• What if my employer retaliates against me for requesting an accommodation?
• What is the employer’s response to a request for a reasonable accommodation?
The workshop will answer these questions for those who are assisting individuals with disabilities seeking employment opportunities. Roberta Zenker from Disability Rights Montana will be the presenter for this workshop on ADA requirements for employees and employers.
To reserve a seat in the presentation, people can contact Bev Hagen, Havre Job Service, [email protected], 406-262-2805.
The workshop will run from 9 to 11 a.m. March 25 at Bullhook Community Health Center at 521 4th St. in Havre. Admission is one nonperishable food item which will be donated to the Havre Food Bank.
