Henry trial continues to fourth day

Former Stone Child College president Melody Henry’s jury trial continues today for its fourth day to lead the jury to a decision on whether or not she is guilty of embezzling funds from the tribe.

Thursday, the third day of the triial, saw many witnesses for the defence at the Missouri River Federal Courthouse in Great Falls.

Henry is sharing her trial with her husband, Frank Henry, who also pleaded not guilty to embezzlement allegations during his time as facilities department manager at Stone Child.

Those sworn in and examined on behalf of the Henrys were Theron Oats, Henry Guardipee, Clayton Morsette, Jessie Colliflower, Cory Sangry-Billy, Melody Henry, Frank Henry and Raymond Keatts, the U.S. Attorney’s office said.

Melody Henry is charged with committing the thefts while she was the president of Stone Child College. She pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy to embezzle federal grant and contract funds, theft from an Indian tribal government receiving federal funding, accepting bribes and theft from an Indian tribal organization.

The third day of the trial lasted from 8:40 a.m. to 5:08 p.m. Thursday and was slated to pick back up today at 8 a.m.
