Hudi D'Wayne Hounihan, 40, of Fort Belknap, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, at his residence.
Wake services will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, and will continue until his funeral service, which will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015, all at the Medicine Bear Center in Lodge Pole. Burial will follow in the Big Warm Cemetery.

Hudi was born on Dec. 21, 1974, in Fort Belknap to Mercedes Shields and Donnie Wayne Hounihan. He was raised in Seattle, Washington, returning to Fort Belknap in 1992 with his mother. He married Londa Means in 2000, and two children were born to that union. The couple later divorced, and in 2006, Hudi met Amber Smith, with whom he had a son.
Hudi worked as a cook at the Tasty Bite in Chinook for five years, and worked for Tribal Commodities as a truck driver for several years.
He enjoyed socializing with family and friends, and he loved spending time with his beloved Amber and his children.
Hudi was preceded in death by his grandparents and his brother, Richard Snell.
He is survived by the second love of his life, Amber Smith of Fort Belknap; his children, Shi and Canaan Means of Billings and Liam Hounihan-Smith of Fort Belknap; his parents, Mercedes Snell of Fort Belknap and Donnie Hounihan of Hayti, Missouri; his brothers, Tracy (Shannon Kinsey) Shields and Raymond Snell, all of Seattle, and Joseph Snell of Fort Belknap; his sisters, Barbie (John) One Bear of Ashland, and Angel Hounihan of Missouri; and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
