MSU-N's Edwards honored

For the fifth time this season alone, the Frontier Conference has honored Montana State University-Northern star A’Jha Edwards.

On Monday, Edwards was once again named Frontier Conference Women’s Player of the Week. The 6-5 senior from Tuscon, Arizona, has also earned NAIA National Player of the Week twice this season.

This past weekend, Edwards helped lead the Skylights to road wins over Lewis-Clark State and Montana Tech. Edwards averaged 22 points, 15.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks. She made 20-of-32 field goals (62 percent) and hit a perfect 4-for-4 at the free-throw line. Edwards had double-doubles in both games which ranks her third in the nation.

LC State junior forward Jacob Wiley was named the Frontier Men’s Player of the Week. Wiley averaged 23.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in LCSC’s wins over MSU-Northern and UGF this past weekend. Northern’s Corbin Pearson was also nominated for the award.
