Obituary - Robert "Buz" Harris

ROUNDUP - Buz Harris, 65, passed away Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, after a heroic battle with multiple sclerosis the last 26 years.

He was born Robert Rex Harris in Lewistown on March 15, 1949, and was a few weeks shy of 66 years old.

Buz graduated from Roundup High School in 1967 and attended Montana State University in Bozeman. He worked in oil field transportation his whole life in the family trucking business in and around Roundup and Havre and had many stories to tell.

He saved up his hard-earned money for a brand new 1965 GTO and was a smarty-pants driving it around. He worked hard so he could play hard - that's what made him fun.  He got along with old people and young people and always had a smile on his face.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Rosalind Merten Harris of Winnett and Roundup.

Buz is survived by his sister, Carol, and brother-in-law Doug Spranger; his niece, Kelly and her husband, Bob Ahart; grandniece, Hanna Tapparel; grandnephew, Christoper Ahart, all residing in New York; his brother and business partner for many, many years, Richard W. Harris of Havre and Roundup; his brother, Rex, and sister-in-law, Darcie Harris residing in Kalispell; nephew, Evan Harris and his wife Sadie of Seattle; and nephew, Adam Harris at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.

Buz loved his aunts, uncles and cousins, nieces and nephews on both sides of his family and kept up-to-date on all their activities.

We will all miss that big smile!

A memorial service will be held in the spring in Lewistown for all family and friends. Service and cremation arrangements are under the care of Creel Funeral Home.

Condolences and memories can be shared online at http://www.creelfuneralhome.com.
