Margaret Schnurr, 90, of Great Falls, passed away Monday, Jan. 26, 2015.
She was born on April 14, 1924, to the late Adam and Helen Degenhart of Billings.
Margaret married Aleck Schnurr in 1944 and later moved from Billings to Havre, where they raised their children, Gary, Joan, Jude, J.D. and Rod.
They moved to Great Falls in 1972 where they lived many happy years. Margaret loved playing softball, pitching horseshoes, bowling, playing cards, gardening and cooking.
She is survived by her children, Joan (Dennis) of Lakeside, Jude (Terry) of Chinook, J.D. of Evergreen, Rod (Kristen) of Bloomfield; daughter-in-law, Sue of Great Falls; grandchildren, Walt, Wenda, Ali, Matt, Jacy, Mattie, Katie, Teal and Ty; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Beverly; and brothers, Burt, Roy (Norma), Dan (Paula); sisters-in-law Evie and Jean Degenhart; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Al; oldest son, Gary; parents, Adam and Helen, bdrothers John and Ray; and sisters Mary, Elenor and Lucelle.
Cremation has taken place and a private burial will be held at a later date in Fort Harrison with her husband's ashes. O'Connor Funeral Home in Great Falls is handling arrangements.
