Mackenzie Hansen, North Star Basketball

Playing three games in three days is never an easy thing. But when your team has a point guard like the North Star Knights have in senior Mackenzie Hansen, everything gets a little easier. Hansen had a big weekend for the Knights, who went 1-2 overall. She paced North Star with 16 points in a close loss to Highwood Thursday, then came back to score 18 in a win over Turner Friday. Hansen, who is also an All-Conference volleyball standout at North Star, scored another 13 points in a loss to Box Elder Saturday.

Clayton Moresette Jr., Box Elder Basketball

The Box Elder boys basketball team has a lot of weapons. And one of them exploded this past weekend. Clayton Morsette Jr. is a three-year starter and an All-State performer for the mighty Bears, and he lit up the gyms on the Hi-Line this past weekend. Morsette Jr. scored 19 points in a win over Chester/J-I Friday night, then came right back and dropped 30 points on the North Star Knights Saturday. He drilled four 3-pointers in the win over the Knights and helped Box Elder stay in first place in the District 9C.
