Myrna Irene Toldness White, 70, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Jan. 5, 2015, in North Bend, Oregon.
Memorial services were held Jan. 10, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church in North Bend, Oregon.
Myrna was born in Havre on June 23, 1944, to Robert H. and Mildred I. (Thompson) Toldness. Myrna grew up in Havre, graduated Havre High class of 1962 and attended her first two years of college at Northern. She then graduated from the University of Montana in 1966.
Myrna's first teaching job was in Coos Bay, Oregon. Soon after arriving in Oregon, Myrna met the love of her life, James A. White, and they were married in 1967. Myrna taught until retirement age in the various elementary schools in the area, teaching mostly kindergarten and first grade.
Myrna was vivacious, friendly and outgoing, with a heartwarming smile. She loved her family, teaching, and assisting others. She was active in her church and the community, touching many lives. Her activities included singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, church leadership positions, visiting and caring for others through the Stephen Ministry program, volunteering at the hospital and a preschool/daycare. Myrna had a knack for conversation and always had a good story to tell.
Myrna was preceeded in death by her parents, Bob and Milly Toldness, daughter, Christine, and all her aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jim of North Bend; son, Craig (Alex) White, and her granddaughter, Margot, both of Plainview, New York; a brother, Loren (Marie) Toldness of Havre; a nephew, Jesse (Kate Christie) Toldness of Fargo, North Dakota; a niece, Rachel Toldness of Seattle; and many cousins and their families including: Lolly (Tiger) Evans, Ruth (Darryl) Wolery, Kay (Rick) Ceynar, Kim Glover, Gordon (Denise) Thompson, Jim Thompson, Tim (Donna) Holsapple, Ron (Linda) Thompson, Stan (Robin) Thompson, George Toldness, Kathleen Galbraith, Gerald (JoLou) Klinger, Gary (Arlyss) Toldness, Kathy (Bob) Doney, Phil (Kelly) Toldness and Paul (Shelly) Toldness.
