Havre churches to celebrate Christian unity

Music groups from most churches in Havre will gather at First Alliance Church at 7 p.m, Sunday to take part in a celebration kicking off National Week of Christian Unity.

The program will be highlighted by the Puppets of Praise, a backlit puppet show put on by members of First Alliance Church.

Other churches will bring folk groups, contemporary groups or choirs, said Tim Zerger, pastor of First Alliance.

At the end of the program, people usually gather for refreshments and good times.

National Week of Christian Unity was started to encourage Christians of various faiths to work together and communicate.

There will be interdenominational breakfasts every morning during the week, 7 to 7:45 a.m.

The breakfasts will be held:

• Monday at First Lutheran Church,

• Tuesday, Assembly of God Church,

• Wednesday, Van Orsdel United Methodist Church,

• Thursday, St. Jude Thaddeus Church,

• Friday, Fifth Avenue Christian Church.
