Jase Billy, Havre Wrestling
It’s already been a big school year for Havre High senior Jace Billy. And things just keep getting better. This past weekend, Billy captured his second individual wrestling title of the season when he dominated the 205-pound weight class at the Cut Bank Invite. Billy won all his matches by pin, including the championship bout, where he pinned Townsend’s Eli Hohn in just :39. Billy, who earned Class A All-State honors this past football season, also was recently named to the 2015 Montana Shrine Game. Billy, a defending state champ in wrestling, also signed to wrestle at MSU-Northern recently.
Ella Billmayer, Turner Girls Basketball
Nothing comes easy for the Turner girls basketball team. But the game is starting to become easier for sophomore Ella Billmayer. Though she’s just in her second year of high school, Billmayer is in her third year of varsity hoops. And she had a big weekend for the Tornadoes. Billmayer scored 14 points, made a 3-pointer and pulled down six rebounds as the Tornadoes beat Hays-Lodge Pole Friday night on the road. The win was a big one for Billmayer and the Tornadoes. And though Turner lost Saturday night at home to Chinook, Billmayer, also an excellent track athlete, scored another 12 points.
