Havre cowboy to ride in MPRF

Tyler Davey will compete in new high school rough stock event in Great Falls

The Montana PRCA Pro Rodeo Circuit and the Montana High School Rodeo Association have joined together in support of promoting rodeo to the younger generation.

At the 36th Annual Montana Pro Rodeo Circuit Finals in Great Falls this weekend, the top six Montana High School saddle bronc and bareback riders will compete at the first-ever MPRF High School Rough Stock Challenge.

And Havre High’s Tyler Davey will be a part of the action. Davey will compete in the bareback riding at the Four Seasons Arena, along with Shawn Perkins of Roberts, Trever McAllister of Ronan, Lane Grove of Townsend, Troy Kirkpatrick of Wise River and Joe St. Goddard of Browning. Trevor Clark of Brusett, Houston Brown of Boradus, Koley Schmidt of Miles City, Sage Newman of Melstone, Jimmy Heptner of Browning and Tucker Harmon of Broadus will compete in the saddle bronc riding.

The six riders will perform each night. The last performance of the MPRF Sunday will showcase the top three individuals in each event from the previous two performances. If there are not three qualified rides, the top three will be filled with the individuals who are ranked highest in the 2014 MHSRA bareback and saddle bronc standings. Stock for this event will be provided by MHSRA approved stock contractors.

Former Montana State University-Northern cowboy Charlie Mack is also entered in this year’s Circuit Finals. Mack will compete in the bull riding competition.

The 2015 MPRF starts Friday night and runs through Sunday at the Four Seasons Arena in Great Falls.
