The H. Earl Clack Memorial Museum Board held a meeting Monday in Havre with lengthy conversations concerning the “Dinosaur Christmas” and the Foundation’s use of the Griggs building.
The board collectively agreed to cancel “Dinosaur Christmas” until December 2015.
Jim Spangelo, manager of the Clack Museum, expressed that the children were disappointed the event was not held in December.
“The kids were sad it was canceled,” he said.
H. Earl and Margaret Turner Clack Memorial Museum Foundation President Elaine Morse, said the group has moved their office space from Holiday Village Mall to the Griggs building, which is located on the 100 Block of 5th Avenue.
Morse said that the group has moved all of the Hands-On History items into the back of the museum. The other museum items that were in the old office space were moved to Griggs building.
“Now that it’s our building… . We discussed multiple choices of names and the decision was to call it the Havre History Center,” she said.
Morse added that the parts of the building are still in the process of being designed and that Griggs Printing is still running.
“We’ve got arrangements to get a donated carpet to go in there,” she said.
The next museum board meeting will be held Feb. 9 at the Great Northern Best Western Inn Conference Room, 1345 1st St. E. at 5:30 p.m.
