Hi-Line Athletes of the Week

Jai-Lynne Day Child, Rocky Boy Basketball

The Rocky Boy Morning Stars are off to their best start since moving up to Class B basketball. And a big reason why is junior Jai-Lynne Day Child. The sharp shooter is averaging nearly 15 points per game for the Morning Stars, and she scored a game-high 18 points as Rocky Boy nearly upset top-ranked Fairfield last Friday night in Fairfield. Day Child is also the top rebounder for the Morning Stars, and she is in her second season of starting for Rocky Boy. She is a standout in volleyball, as well, for the Morning Stars.

Jerod Boles, Havre Basketball

Havre High junior Jerod Boles is the point guard of a Blue Pony team which is off to a great start. But when he needs to, Boles can put the ball in the basket, too, and his scoring is becoming key to HHS’s success. Boles scored 18 points and hit four 3-pointers in this past weekend’s HHS split with GFH and Malta. He also scored a key 13 points in the Ponies’ overtime win at Livingston back in December. Boles is in his second season of varsity basketball, and he also excels in golf and tennis for Havre High..
