HELENA — Between shouts of excitements and tears of joy, Richard Hentschel of Havre, was able to claim his $100,000 Montana Millionaire ticket. Richard purchased his ticket at Markus Foods in Whitefish.

Hentschel came in to the lottery office in Helena Thursday with his father, wife and son in tow, ecstatic over their recent win with a ticket that Richard purchased on his birthday.

Avid Player’s Club participants, Richard’s wife had already entered all their bonus play codes online and practically had their ticket numbers memorized. So when the winning numbers were announced, despite the fact that she was at work, Richard’s wife new immediately that they had won.

Richard and his wife ran home on their lunch breaks and confirmed what they already knew, they had won $100,000. They then waited for their son to arrive home and had him check the numbers as well so he could experience firsthand the excitement of figuring out that they had won. With his winnings, Richard plans to pay off some bills, put some in saving and use the rest to visit their oldest son who is currently in Arizona for college.
