Ice Hawks split road games against Glasgow

After dropping two games to open the season the Havre Ice Hawks were back in action this past weekend in search of their first win of the 2014-15 campaign. In the end, it took longer than they hoped, but when the weekend was over, the Ice Hawks got themselves in the win column.

Havre played two games on the road against Glasgow Saturday and in the opening game, the Ice Hawks fell just short of their first win falling 7-6 to the Dawgs. But, in the second game, the Ice Hawks bounced back with a 10-6 victory to improve their record to 1-3 on the season.

In the first game against Glasgow, the Ice Hawks had a solid offensive effort led by Blake Hanson, who scored a hat trick with three goals. Kyle Konesky added two goals and Clifford Lenhardt scored one. Konesky and Hanson each added two assists in the one-goal loss for the Ice Hawks.

In the second game, the Ice Hawks were determined to come out on top and made sure they did with an offensive explosion. Blake Hanson had a hat trick for the second straight game and actually scored four goals in game two.

Not to be out done, Alex Hanson tied his brother Blake with a game-high four goals in the win for Havre. Kyle Kirkpatrick and Jeffrey Ralph each contributed with a goal. Josh Emge earned the win after a solid performance in the net.

Konesky led the Ice Hawks with three assists, Alex Hanson had two, Caleb McLain added two and Blake Hanson had one.

The Ice Hawks will be off briefly during the Christmas break but will be back on the ice Jan. 3 with two games against the Bozeman Ice Dogs.
