On a quest to have the best dressed door, local facilities decorated their office doors for a friendly holiday competition. The theme of this contest was "Snowglobe."
Hill County Commissioners Mark Peterson, Michael Wendland and Jeff LaVoi judged this competition.
The doors were scored Monday. The Hill County Treasurer's Office team won this competition and received a trophy.
Kathie Vigliotti, Hill County clerk of court, said her group researched online to come up with their design, which included a large snowman made out of white disposable cups.
"I think (this contest) brings the courthouse together," she added.
Kyler Lake, a clerk in the treasurer's office, was part of the winning team. He said his group voted on a couple of photographs and they ended up choosing to design a door based on the gingerbread man.
The treasurer office's door design included a large gingerbread man with real giant swirl lollipops as the eyes, licorice for the smile, and photos of Lake's team.
"We wanted to use as much as we could that was real - that would stay," he said.
Lake also said that other county buildings participated in this contest such as the Havre-Hill Library.
"A lot of offices are kind of slow this time of the year, so it's good to get people doing something productive and fun," he said.
