Christmas Dinner feeds many

A holiday weekend full of the magic and joy of Christmas

The annual community Christmas dinner is set for Thursday. A variety of food will be served including turkey with all the trimmings, free-of-charge.

The festivities are set to begin at 11 a.m. and run until 2 p.m. at the Eagles Club, 202 1st St.

Tom Farnham, manager at Eagle's Club and chairman of the event, said the dinner brings joy and cheerfulness to the community.

"Anybody - any walk of life - anyone can come in and have a free Christmas dinner," he said. "The help is provided by the Eagle's members and the community members, along with donations from the community."

Farnham said his favorite part about being involved with this event is seeing the smiles on people's faces on Christmas Day.

"It is so neat to see all walks of life, visiting with each other, eating with each other and enjoying the day," he said.

Farnham also said that if people need a meal delivered to them, they can call the North Central Senior Center at 265-5464 until 3 p.m. today.

Farnham added that those who wish to volunteer at this event should show up at the Eagle's Club.

"Anyone is welcome to volunteer or donate," he said.
