Donaldson Hall was the first genuinely new building on what is today Montana State University-Northern.
It was a central part of college life for generations of students.
This Christmas season, the building is being honored as the subject of the annual Christmas ornament put out by the Havre/Hill County Historic Preservation Commission.
The building was originally designed as a girls' dormitory but has served several purposes over the years.
It has fallen on hard times, but college officials are trying to find ways to preserve the structure.
The ornaments feature a different historical landmark every year.
The ornament was celebrated Tuesday when preservation commission members gave Acting Northern Chancellor Greg Kegel one of the ornaments.
The $20 ornaments are available for purchase at the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce, 130 5th Ave.
