The Chippewa Cree Business Committee meeting scheduled for 9 a.m. today was canceled due to the chaotic environment surrounding the expulsion of chairman Ken Blatt St. Marks and the delay of the swearings-in of the new members of the committee.
Richard “Ricky” Morsette said that the committee canceled the meeting because there was too much chaos.
The hearing for the allegations against St. Marks brought dozens of people to the tribal offices, and tribal officials were unable to conduct the meeting because of it.
Tuesday, the committee signed a restraining order against St. Marks. He is not allowed within 500 feet of the tribal offices.
St. Marks said the order was invalid because it was signed by tribal council members whose terms have expired.
Three council members contend they are still in office because tribal court has invalidated election results because an honorary tribal member's voted in the election.
The next meeting for the business committee will be Dec. 11 at 9 a.m. at the tribal offices at Agency Square.

The 3 council members still do not represent a legal council. Don't they realize what they are doing to this Tribe.
