Benefit planned for Jarvis

Friends call Richard Jarvis “a nice guy, the kind of guy everybody knows.”

That’s why so many people were devastated to learn he had been diagnosed by Hodgkins lymphoma.

The former Havre High School football and wrestling standout is undergoing chemotherapy treatment in Great Falls. That means a lot of driving back and forth from Havre, and the bills are mounting, said his friend Jessica Garza.

His wife and three children have been behind him all the way she said.

Today, friends are putting on a benefit at Pizza Hut to help him with some of the cost, Garza said.

People who buy any Pizza Hut products need to mention Jarvis’ name and 20 percent of the cost will be donated to help the family offset costs.

The offer is good through closing tonight, she said.
