Area gridders earn Six-Man honors

It was another exciting season of Six-man football along the Hi-Line and after it concluded with Geraldine/Highwood winning another Six-Man state title, the selections for Northern C and Class C Six-man All Conference and All State teams were released.

Of the three Hi-Line teams that reside in the North Division, North Star, Big Sandy and Box Elder, only North Star managed to get into the postseason following a 6-2 regular season.

Likewise, the Knights were the only team to get players onto the Six-Man All State Team as both offensive/defensive lineman Jaxon Simonson and running back Gavin Spinler each received All-State honors.

Simonson and Spinler also earned All-Conference honors in the North Division. This is the second straight year that Simonson made both All-Conference and All-State. The Knights finished the season 6-3 after falling 50-33 to Lone Peak in the Six-man state playoffs.

While the Box Elder Bears did not qualify for the playoffs, they still had one of their best seasons in recent memory, posting a 4-4 record and missing out on the postseason by a single game for the second year-in-a-row.

The Bears were spurned in large part by the outstanding effort of quarterback Brandon The Boy, who was among the top signal callers in the Northern C, which helped him earn All-Conference honors. Jerrod Four Colors, The Boy’s top receiver, was the other Box Elder player to earn his way on the All-Conference team.

Big Sandy managed to get just one player, quarterback Kyle Strutz onto the All-Conference team. The Pioneers put together a 3-5 season and finished sixth in the North
