Chester native to 'come home' to display art

Special to Havre Daily News

Corey Couturier will unveil his newest art piece Friday, Dec. 12, at the Atrium Mall in Havre.

Measuring approximately 8 feet by 8 feet, this modern piece will be a great addition to the Atrium’s décor.

Everyone is invited to join in the celebration at a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Atrium.

Couturier specializes in colorful, modern contemporary art.

He was born in Chester, but grew up on a farm just east of Chinook where Battle Creek flows into the Milk River. He spent a couple of years in Havre before moving to Phoenix in 1986, where he spent most of his adult life.

He developed a fascination for art while attending the University of Idaho. Over the years he has experimented with various types of art styles and medium.

The Downtown Phoenix Scene played a big role as he developed his Modern Urban Style, and he looks forward to his “coming home to Montana experience.”

Faith plays a huge role in Couturier’s art, and he has used his art a means to raise money for different causes such as I will not Bully, Standing in the Gap Foundation, and Loaves And Fishes.
