Four things to do for Thanksgiving: Festival of Trees

Karen Vosen has been attending the Festival of Trees for about six or seven years - ever since the festival was created to raise funds for the Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Line.

Every year she has made a quilt to be put up for bidding and is contributing a quilt this year as well.

"I make quilts all the time, and I thought that is somewhere I can donate to them," she said.

Vosen, a Havre resident, said she has sewed all of her life and started making quilts in 1996. She said she is excited to see how the trees will turn out and how generous people will be when bidding.

"It's just a festive night," she said of the festival.

The Festival of Trees brings awareness to the Boys & Girls Club, she said.

"I think the Boys & Girls Club is such a vital thing for the community because it is a wonderful place for these kids to go after school and during the summer. I think there is a real need for it," she said.
