Obituary - Thomas L. Alex

Thomas L. Alex, 70, passed away from natural causes at his residence on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014. Cremation has taken place, and at Tom's request, no memorial services will be held. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.

Tom was born on May 28, 1944, in Havre to Anthony and Verda (Norenberg) Alex. He was raised in Havre, the youngest of eight children. Tom attended schools in Havre, and following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving for four years. After his discharge, Tom returned to Havre to work for several years. He moved to Casper, Wyoming, to work for a short time before settling in Las Vegas, where he worked as a casino slot director. Upon retirement, Tom returned to Havre, where he remained until his death.

Tom was an outgoing man with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed his socialization time, and was very interested in politics. Tom loved his family and all kids. He had a special place in his heart for dogs and cats. Tom enjoyed visiting with his family and friends and watching Fox News.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Verda Alex; and his brother, Dennis Alex.

Tom is survived by his sons, Richard (Wendy) Hanson of Bend, Oregon, and Edward (Kristie) Hanson of Boise, Idaho; five grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn (Grant) Lang of Gildford, Cheryl (Bob) Evans of Havre and Pam (Ben) Essary of Stevensville, Montana; brothers, Edward (Peggy) Alex of York, Pennsylvania, Alan (Gail) Alex of Havre, and John (Diane) Alex of Casper, Wyoming; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
