Community orchestra sets an evening of classic rock

The Montana State University-Northern Community Orchestra, directed by Rhonda Minnick, will perform its fall concert, An Evening of Classic Rock, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m., at Fifth Avenue Christian Church.

The concert will showcase musical selections which pay homage to some of the most influential artists or modern time: The Beatles, The Eagles, Elton John, Steppenwolf, Michael Jackson, Queen and more.

Special guests will include Mike Carey, guitarist on Classical Gas, and guest vocalists The Nerds of Notes, Jim Potter and members of the Pratt family.

The orchestra comprises members of the Havre community and has been entertaining audiences since 2008, when it formed as the pit orchestra for the Montana Actors' Theatre production of “Man of La Mancha.”

Each performance features new talent, and new members are always welcome.

Refreshments will be served following the performance. The concert is free, but donations will be accepted.
