More details have been released about the two-vehicle crash that took place Wednesday night on U.S. Highway 2.
According to a Montana Highway Patrol crash information report, two 2011 Chevrolet Silverados collided Wednesday at approximately 7:55 p.m. west of Havre.
Samuel A. Sistrunk, 31, of Purvis, Minnesota, was the driver of the Chevrolet Silverado that caused the crash. His passenger was Nathan Boutwell, 24, of Jacksonville, North Carolina.
Bret Murphy, 54 of Spring Creek, Nevada, was the driver of the other Chevrolet Silverado. His passenger was Joseph Murphy, 77, of Great Falls, Montana.
Sistrunk was traveling east on Highway 2 when he became distracted by an object within his vehicle, crossed the center turn lane and inside westbound traffic lane and struck the truck Bret Murphy was driving — causing it to tip onto its side.
Both occupants of truck Murphy was driving were trapped inside their vehicle and had to be extracted. They were then transported to Northern Montana Hospital.
Sistrunk was cited for careless driving involving serious bodily injury.
