Montana Democrats will launch a four-day tour of Montana at Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation Thursday. The tour will be highlighted by Gov. Steve Bullock and Sen. Jon Tester, D-Montana.
The effort is aimed at convincing undecided voters and encouraging party faithful to get to the polls for the election, which includes races for the U.S. Senate and U.S House.
It will conclude Sunday in Butte.
The group will hit three of the Hi-Line’s Democratic bastions.
The Rocky Boy rally will be held at 8 a.m. at the tribal headquarters in Rocky Boy Agency.
The entourage, which also includes Senate hopeful Amanda Curtis and House candidate John Lewis, will then move on to Havre for an 11 a.m. rally at the Eagles Club.
At noon, a similar rally will be held at the Red Whip Recreation Center at Aaniiih Nakoda College at Fort Belknap Indian Reservation.
The tour will highlight issues that impact Montana’s tribal communities and all Montana families: keeping our public lands public, protecting Social Security, Medicare and women’s access to health care, and ensuring "a bright future for the next generation," a party press release said.
Local legislative candidates will take part in the rally.
Lewis faces Republican Ryan Zinke, while Curtis opposes U.S. Rep. Steve Daines.
