If you hear a siren on Wednesday — do not panic.
According to a City of Havre Police Department and the Hill County Sheriff’s Office press release, officials will be performing an emergency siren test Wednesday at 10:22 a.m., part of a statewide drill.
This test will be in conjunction with the “Great Montana Shakeout Earthquake Drill” that is set for the same day and time.
The Great Montana ShakeOut Drill is where Montanans join millions of people across the world to practice how to “Drop, Cover, and Hold On” in the event of an earthquake.
The emergency siren alarm provides the city of Havre and Hill County an opportunity to test their emergency alert equipment. It will be used as a way to remind the public of the emergency warning system that would be used should a real disaster occur.
