In a game that could tip the scales in the Central A Conference, the Belgrade Panthers emerged victorious. On Friday night at Blue pony Stadium, the Panthers took down the Havre Blue Ponies 40-27.
Belgrade scored on the opening play of the game on an interception return for a touchdown, and also got two long touchdown runs by QB Brayden Konkol, who later left with an injury. Havre got two touchdown runs from Jase Stokes, while Dane Warp threw a pair of TD passes to brother Isaac Warp. The Ponies were in good position early in the second stanza when they led 14-13. But the Panthers scored two times inside the final five minutes of the first half, essentially putting the game out of reach.
Havre fell to 1-1 in the Central A and 2-4 overall. The Ponies now play a huge conference game at Lewistown next Friday night.
