Rocky Boy, Harlem runners shine

Long distance runners from Rocky Boy and Harlem are having a good fall so far. And both teams were in action at different cross country meets this past weekend.

Rocky Boy runners raced in the Cut Bank Invitational last Saturday, and though neither the boys nor girls teams had enough runners for a team score, plenty of Stars did quite well.

Leading the way for Rocky Boy was Tristen Belgarde, who won the boys race with a time of 17:33. It was Belgarde’s third win of the season, and he’ll be the favorite at the upcoming Havre Invitational this Saturday. Chase Corcoran finished 14th for the Stars with a time of 20;27, while Lance Parker was 16th at 20:35. Isaiah Turn Toes added a 33rd-place finish with a time of 25:34.

The Rocky Boy girls ran well, too. Kiona Cantrell finished third in the meet with a time of 25:10 and Rosie Parker was sixth at 26:18. Rheannon Plain Bull rounded out the times for Rocky Boy, placing 13th with a time of 32:27.

The Harlem boys and girls took part in the Glasgow Invitational last Saturday. In the boys meet, Harlem’s Keahna Little was fourth with a time of 16:52, while Tristen Gone was sixth with a time of 17:01. Harlem will also take part in the Havre Invite Saturday.
