HHS golfers finished with regular season

The Havre High golf teams are ready for the Central A Divisional tournament. And the Blue Ponies got ready with two tough tournaments against the Eastern A last week.

Havre was in Billings for the Billings Central Invitational last Thursday, then the Ponies played at the Laurel Invitational Friday.

In Billings, at Eaglerock Golf Course, the Blue Pony boys shot a 338 to finish third, while the HHS girls shot a 484 to place third. Billings Central, Laurel, Sidney and Glendive were also in attendance. For the boys, junior Jerod Boles shot 78 to finish in fifth place and just four strokes off the lead. Dustin Haas shot 85, while Wyatt Lindbloom posted an 86, Jeff Miller an 88 and Kane Gabrielsen a 92. On the girls side in Billings, Randi Gabrielsen was tops for HHS with a 105. Grace Litzinger shot a 115, Jordan Keith a 118 and Regan Lammers a 146.

Havre turned its attention to the difficult Laurel Country Club Friday. The Eastern A was in the field again on Friday, as well as several AA teams, including Bozeman High. The Havre boys finished fifth with a 348, while the HHS girls didn’t have a team score, as Randi Gabrielsen sat out with an illness.

Individually, Miller paced the Pony boys with an 80, which was good enough for fifth place. Boles shot an 88, while Kane Gabrielsen posted an 89, Haas a 91 and Lindbloom a 98. On the girls side, Litzinger shot 128, Keith 141 and Lammers 156.

Havre will now get ready for the postseason, starting with Saturday’s Central A Divisional in Bozeman. The Class A state meet is set for Oct. 3-4 in Hamilton.
