In a defensive struggle all night, it looked as though the Havre Blue Ponies were going to finally. With just 14 seconds left in regulation Saturday night at Blue Pony Stadium, the Ponies scored a touchdown and looked to force overtime against the Sidney Eagles. However, Havre's point after attempt sailed wide and HHS walked out of Blue Pony Stadium 0-3 after a gut-wrenching 14-13 defeat at the hands of Sidney.
Havre trailed 7-0 at halftime, put pulled even on a Parker Filius TD run early in the third quarter. Sidney answered with a score of its own in the fourth, but with under two minutes left in the game, Havre marched on what would have been a game-tying drive. And with time running out, Dane Warp found younger brother Isaac Warp on a short TD pass making the score 14-13. And that's where it stayed after the missed PAT.
The loss dropped the Ponies to 0-3 in non-conference play, as they travel to Glendive next Friday night, still in search of their first win.
