A new sign recently placed on U.S. Highway 87 south of Havre points the way to Fort Assinniboine, the historic fort that was in operation in the late 19th and early 20th century. The sign is designed to tell visitors where to go for tours. The sign was paid for with the help of Central Montana Tourism, Havre-Hill County Preservation Commission, the Tourism Business Improvement District and the Fort Assinniboine Preservation Association.
