HYBA tournaments run all week long

This week marks a busy one for the Havre Youth Baseball Association.

Starting today, and running through Sunday afternoon, HYBA will wrap up its regular season for both the Babe Ruth and Major League age divisions.

The Babe Ruth City Tournament begins tonight and runs through Thursday night’s championship game. The tourney starts tonight with Wells Fargo taking on Northern Montana Hospital at 5:30 and Calypso battling Optimist at 7:30. The winner’s bracket game Wednesday is set for 5:30 p.m., and the loser-out game will be held at 7:30. Thursday’s third-place game will be held at 5:30 p.m. while the championship game is slated for 7:30 p.m. If a second title game is needed, it will be held Friday at 6:30 p.m. All of the Babe Ruth action takes place at Legion Field.

Meanwhile, the Majors City Tournament will run Thursday-Sunday at Lions Park. There are games at 5 and 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, as well as games at 9 and 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday. The championship game is set for 10 a.m. Sunday with a second title game scheduled for 12 p.m. if needed.

The 2014 Minor League championship was settled Sunday at Elks Park when Tire Factory beat Subway in the second championship game to claim the city title.
