Zach Molyneaux, Chinook Track
There isn’t much Chinook senior Zach Molyneaux hasn’t done in football, basketball, and even track and field. But Molyneaux made sure to leave no stone unturned at his final Northern C Divisional track meet last Thursday in Great Falls. Molyneaux easily won the shot put with a toss of 50-06, which was nearly four feet better than his closest copmpeitior. He also finished second in the discus and sixth in the javelin to pace the Chinook boys. Molyneaux is headed to Rocky Mountain College to play football.
Mariah Swank, Chinook Tennis
State championships don’t get any harder to come by then in tennis and singles. But Chinook junior Mariah Swank sure made it look easy last weekend in Missoula. Swank captured the Class B-C girls state championship last Saturday, beating Cut Bank’s Paige Larson 7-5, 6-3 in the championship match. Swank, who didn’t drop a single set in five wins at the state tourney, also helped push the Sugarbeeters to their second girls state team title in the last five seasons. Swank is a three-sport athlete at Chinook.
